RECENTLY SEEN as "Elsa Schraeder" in The Sound of Music at the Broadway Palm Theatre in Fort Myers, Florida! Amanda celebrated her 200th performance of this classic role during this production!

Amanda Morgan, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, began her professional career at the age of 8 with the Cleveland Opera. As a young actress, she honed her craft under such renowned directors as Gerald Freedman, Victoria Bussert, and Rob Ruggiero.

 

Amanda attended the North Carolina School of the Arts, studying with Derrick Lawrence and James Allbritten, pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance. Since graduation, Amanda has traveled the country performing in countless regional theatres and touring houses, including 124 performances as "Anna" in The King and I, and 215 performances as "Elsa Schraeder" in The Sound of Music.

 

Over the course of her long career, Amanda has played such roles as a neon cowgirl, a creepy witch, a giant forest mushroom, an old spinster, a country hick, Lizzie Borden, and a Mexican squash who loves cheeseburgers. She has performed with a water glass orchestra and sang back-up for Kenny Rogers, and always looks forward to the next eccentric role to add to the list!

 

Amanda currently resides in New York City with her special love, Peter.
